Wow, that looks awesome!

You really weren't kidding when you said that the new stuff was coming soon lol

Hehe, thanks.
I did these a while ago and had them up on Oculus (photoblog), but thought I should share them here as well as they really are more photo manipulation than actual photography - albeit, not hugely manipulated, just some filters in PS to give the illusion that they're miniatures.. :)

Ahh, well you've done a good job. Is the tilt-shift an effect you've added in later? Because I was looking at a lens for that kind of work and it was about $2300 :|

There's what's known as 'lensbabies' which are significantly cheaper, maybe AU$250-$300. I've had a play with one and they're pretty cool, but I think I'll stick to the PS method for now..!

I have my eyes on the Nikkor 85mm f/2.8 PC Micro tilt shift lens which is about AU$2200 :D

Sigh, I'm jealous. I still haven't even gotten around to purchasing a camera with replaceable lenses. I keep meaning to get out and do some research, but time just seems to slip away...

What sort of camera are you using?

It's something I stewed about for maybe 2 years before I took the plunge and bought my DSLR, but I'm bloody glad I finally did..!
I bought a 2nd hand Nikon D50 body which gave me more flexibility in my lens choice. At the moment I have 2 lenses, a 17-70mm, and a 70-300mm, and I plan to get a 10-20mm soonish (funds permitting!).
I've used both Canon and Nikon, and I'm much happier with Nikon - hence that's what I bought. I like the layout of the body better, plus the D50 fitted my hands perfectly.

You can get a good basic setup for $1000-$1500. Check out the new Nikon D40X, Ted's have some great deals with lenses included, or just get the body and find a better quality lens more suited to your style of photography :D

Ahh, thanks for that - but who the heck is Ted?

A friend just got a D80 and I had a bit of fun playing with it, but I've also played with the Canon EOS 400D and it took my breath away. There's a few other brands I'm meaning to take a look at, but I like Canon. My current camera is a Canon (a sub-DSLR) and its been dropped on pavements and in snowpatches all over the world, but still works. I like companies who can make equipment that outlasts my carelessness!

Better get a Leica then..! Damn, they're a well built camera!

Yes, is personal preference, but I don't think you can go too far wrong whatever you choose.
D80 is a very nice camera, though I'd love the D200.. it's just money that's the issue! Not sure how much you intend to spend..

Ted's is a nationwide camera store.. do you not have one? Google them :P
